What worlds we want to see in Kingdom Hearts 3

These are the worlds we really want to see in much anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3.

“I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately… like is any of this for real or not?” this is one of the opening quotes in the original Kingdom Hearts, it’s getting us feeling like waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 has been a long list of is this real or not? E3 is here soon we may hear more, but for now here is a look at what worlds we want to see in the much anticipated game for Kingdom Hearts 3…

One of the worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3

With such a long time since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 way back in 2006 it’s surprising that concepts started for Kingdom Hearts 3 straight after but the game wasn’t officially announced until 2013. And since then, we have seen and heard very little, much to the disappointment of fans everywhere. Directly after E3 2013, Tetsuya Nomura claimed that Kingdom Hearts III was announced “too early”, based on where the game currently stands in development. He continued by saying, “Many fans were feeling impatient due to our continuous releases of spin-off titles, so we decided to announce it at the same time as Final Fantasy XV”.

Since then, more videos have been released showing KH3 in more detail such as the video from last year’s E3 demonstrating gameplay, including Sora, Donald and Goofy fighting new enemies, coming together to unleash a train ride move in the sky, lit up as they ride it to an enemy. New enemies are shown, along with other moves such as spinning teacups. It looked fantastic and gave us a first glimpse into one of the new worlds: Kingdom of Corona from Disney’s Tangled. It also showed off the Disney “ride” style moves based on, you guessed it, real rides in Disneyland.

The game is set after the events of Dream Drop Distance, Sora is once again joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku in their search for the seven guardians of light and the “Key to Return Hearts” as they attempt to thwart Master Xehanort’s plan to bring about a second Keyblade War. The worlds confirmed at the moment are both Kingdom of Corona and a world based on the Disney movie, Big Hero 6. Returning worlds are expected, such as Olympus from Hercules and Twilight Town.

Disney have acquired LucasFilms, Pixar and Marvel since Kingdom Hearts 2, so could any of their famous franchises be included in the game? Director Tetsuya Nomura stated: “The first thing I do when I find out this news is contact Disney and see if it’s something I can use. Disney’s pretty honest [on the possibility of an inclusion]. If the situation is really difficult, they’ll say, it’s really difficult. If it’s impossible, they’ll say it’s impossible.” So that could be a yes though it doesn’t sound easy! It may not also be possible due to licensing for Disney Interactive Studios as opposed to films.

Nevertheless, here are the worlds we want to see in Kingdom Hearts 3:

Toy story

Toy Story (World)

Now, this is more to include the characters of Toy Story rather than the world itself. It would be awesome if approaching the world, our characters were somehow transformed into toys and need the Toy Story gang’s help to get back. Buzz and Woody seem a perfect fit to the Kingdom Hearts Universe and would be hilarious if included. Levels could include Andy’s Room, or the house next door fighting enemies in Sid’s room…

Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo (World)

Again, this is more to include the characters from Nemo, rather than just the world it is set in. The ocean theme worked well before in Atlantis, so why not the great ocean as per Finding Nemo? We’d love to see the amazing Dory (Voiced by the hilarious Ellen DeGeneres) the sequel to the original movie being released this year (Finding Dory) it could tie in really well. Remember – just keep swimming, just keep swimming…

Frozen world

Frozen World

Now this seems too obvious not to use – Imagine being able to visit Elsa and Anna, in the snow covered kingdom with plenty of ice and snow! There could be plenty of opportunities for mini games (We are thinking Olaf could help with these too) along with some awesome snowy adventures. Frozen seems the ideal world to use after the overwhelming success of the Disney film.

That’s it! Do you agree with us? What worlds do you want to see? Let us know in the comments! & Check back here for all Kingdom Hearts related news…!
