Howard the Duck Will Not be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Despite an awesome cameo in the first film, he will not be in the second

The post credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy saw The Collector’s place trashed with a very cool appearance of Howard the Duck, voiced by the great Seth Green but James Gunn has just dashed all hope that he will pop up in the sequel.

James Gunn welcomed his good friend Seth Green to the set of Guardians 2 but the director made it very clear that Green was there just for a visit and not to record lines for the upcoming film. Gunn posted to his Facebook page:

“Thank you Seth Green for coming by and hanging out with me on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! Yes, Seth was Howard the Duck in the first movie, but, no, he wasn’t on set to shoot a scene – we’ve just been good friends for almost 15 years!”

Fans were disappointed that Seth Green was not recording lines for a Howard the Duck cameo again as his appearance in the first film was greatly received. Fans went crazy after seeing Howard again after his 1986 solo film bombed and we thought it wouldn’t happen. Who knows, maybe one day he will appear again but it seems that won’t be soon.

In other Guardians news it seems that it’s been strongly suggested that Guardians will crossover with Avengers in Infinity War Part 2. The directors for Avengers 3 are in the process of creating the two part films and have said that they want to include the Guardians gang in the film. Chris Evans has also said that he wants a Captain America cameo in Guardians 2 but that’s unlikely to happen.
